We contribute to develop regional studies and culture.
Regional Humanities Center is an institute for development of regional
studies and culture at Southeastern area of Kyunggi-do, initiated from one of HK+
humanities research work 2017.
We stress on the cooperation with the local civic spaces, libraries, or schools in
order to develop programs for enhancing local culture and alienated people
education. The Chinese Character '鄕氣’ stands for regional atmosphere, in which
we aim to enhance local culture and to show its importance. Every region in
Korea has its own heritage including notion, culture, convention, lifestyle, and so
forth.
Our immediate objective is to improve local life, develop and distribute diverse
programs, and all the way to become a hub for both regional studies and culture
by promoting historical commonality and diversity of Southeastern Kyunggi-do.
Education Programs we provide are Vitality活氣 Humanities Class for local elders,
Korean culture education for multi-cultural families, Warmth溫氣 Humanities Class
for the middle-aged, Humanities Class for teenagers, and Chinese Character Class
for school children. Cultural programs into which local residents participate are as
book clubs, events in regards to traditional local assets or historical features.
We are planning lasting cooperation not only with local people but also with
various institute regarding with local culture, in order to afford more regional
centres go in coupled with local people and contribute to local culture. Our efforts
will foster an atmosphere that affords enhancing local culture and regional studies.
